3D Maglite LED at Lowes starting 11/25 for $14.97 I got one of these last year. VERY impressive output and throw. Mag is usually made fun of given how they haven't kept up with technology. This 3D Mag LED though is a great step up for them. Uses a Rebel 100 LED and a deep reflector. Amazingly bright. I power mine with AA NiMH rechargeables inside D-cell adapters. Don't get the 2D version. That model pulls too many amps from the batteries. Highly recommended! |

You will be pleased but as with all LED flashlight, they're not impressive until nighttime (to me I think it's due to their color). Get a set of these and you can run rechargeable NiMH AA's. http://cgi.ebay.com/6-X-AA-C-Size-D-Size-Battery-Adapter-Converter-New-/290500444220?pt=US_Batteries&hash=item43a32d003c#ht_1418wt_1139 I know the flashlight addiction - I'm afflicted too. My prize isn't an LED flashlight though but one of these. http://www.amazon.com/Power-Board-Intensity-Discharge-Spotlight/dp/B000QURK48 SMOKIN bright. I laugh whenever I use it. beamshots http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showpost.php?p=1760999&postcount=125 http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showpost.php?s=955b80354c5d33ee09fdbe7a128e9d41&p=198548&postcount=2 Edited by JellyBeanDriver, Nov 26 2010, 12:27 PM.

ok thats a stupidy insanely bright light..... I WANT IT :-) maybe I will have to nab me a couple of them 50watt LED's and make myself a stupid bright LED spot light to rival that HID unit :-) hehe My crown jewel is much more modest :-) about 20 years ago I got this awesome little "pen light" (2AAA) its insane BRIGHT ORANGE porcelain enamel coated brass with a brass end cap (actually a really nice quality pen light) but it was not "that" bright with an uneven pattern and ate batteries like candy. once day while looking for LED bulbs to convert those little paper lamps to LED it HIT ME wait this screw in LED conversion bulb from Terralux should also fit my pen light !!! so I ordered it. I had to remove a chunk of the shell to make it but IT FIT !!! now its insanely bright for a little pen light and the quality brass shell makes for a decent heat sink too. and in 4 months still have not killed the batteries and I use it a lot :-) they don't make pen lights like this anymore at least not often or not common thats for sure. the terralux is also a WARM white not a cold which (hate cold white) a very nice pleasing light. I LOVE how broad and EVEN the light is. no hot spot no circles or lines of concentration. just a nice smooth even light. no throw at all but thats not what a penlight is for. :-) ![]()

I got a $20 light from big lots. It has a 10 inch bulb thing. Recharagable. Side LED light constant or flashing mode Stand. Car or House charger. Battery is a 12V battery, looks like a motorcycle battery. This thing is so bright that I can shine it down a street and it will go twice as far as my hellas. Its awesome! |

Nope, don't hate you at all. I've known about DX before I bought the Fenix and the ITP-A3. Went through a few AAA lights from Kaidomain too. In the end I should have bought the Fenix to begin with as I would have been dollars ahead. It's hard anodized, isn't flakey in operation, great output and small. It's been on my keychain for over a year and still looks great and works great. The ITP-A3 didn't exist before I bought the Fenix LOD, but it is definitely a worthy light too. I bought a few of them last year and gave them out as gifts. Now my AA and CR123A lights are Romisens from DX. The RC-F4 is a great light. A FANTASTIC deal on a cheap light is this one. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1253 10 for $4.47 and that includes shipping! I think I've bought over a hundred in the past couple of years and given them out. Bright and small. EVERYONE has room on their keychain for one of these. Heck you can't even buy replacement batteries this cheap. Edited by JellyBeanDriver, Nov 27 2010, 01:03 AM.

I believe I got some pretty good deals yesterday on lights. Home Depot 2 pack AA real mini mags with gift cases & Duracell batteries $9.97. 3 packs of AA Duracell batteries with 30 in ea pack, $5.00 ea. Pep Boys 1,000,000 candlepower rechargeable spotlight. $7.00 plus a $7.00 mail in rebate = FREE, except for cost of stamp. Yeah baby! PS Also scored a 7 pack of Gearwrench brand metric wrenches with flex head for $29.88 at Sears. About 1/2 normal price I think. |

I've bought some of those before and was less than pleased. Poor quality and fit. A Costco Eneloop kit I bought a couple of years ago came with the adapters like I originally linked to and they're very good. No issues with fit and work well. That Ebay link I gave is the same style. |
