what ebay link?? you have another source for D cell containers that take TWO AA's ?? ie you can make a cheap 5 amp D cell that way !!

Sorry, the link I had did not accept 2 AA's into 1 D adapter.
The amp draw on the 3D mag LED - forget the amount but I think it's about 500mA. I did the measurements a year ago - I'll find them.

oh its not that mags take a lot of juice its just that you can double your capacity which is nice :-)

I will have to double check but I think 3 AA's can actually fit in the space of a D cell. I think I tried it but can't remember what the result was :-) but if 2 just fit across then 3 won't fit. pitty :-)

Yep, I have an adapter that holds 9 AA's - 3 groups of 3, all in series to drive a halogen bulb.
It's my 'Mag85' modified flashlight.
