well I am worried they will not have enough so am expecting to have to go around. I get around limits by simply putting what I bought in my car going back inside and buying again :-) if I hit 1 k-mart and they have a ton of them then I won't need to do that (goto multiple k-marts) Hmmm be careful most of pepboys is frelling rebates. man I hate rebates. yup just confirmed (bfads.net) $16 for 5 quarts and filter then $10 mail in rebate. which means the hassle of a rebate and you only get one since its likely 1 rebate per household. $17 gets you Synthetic and filter if I read it right ($12 after rebate) another deal starting today that I am going to go get is Target has WD 2tb external hard disks for $69 plan to get 3 if I can find 3 of them. pepboys does have a decent deal on carports. 12' x 26' carport for $180 ($150 after $30 rebate THAT Is worth a rebate form) thats friday. I've never had problems with limits at stores, just have them ring it up on separate receipts or walk in and out of the same store and buy it again. Used to buy stuff from Fry's all the time that were limit 1. Put 4 in the cart and ring them up separate. |

Just remember that you get what you pay for. I used to buy 4 quarts of Wal Mart's cheapest every oil change. What did I use it for? A flush. I would drain my Mobil 1, add the cheap shit, drive for 20 miles and change it to fresh Mobil 1 again. So far I have 360,000 miles on the engine I did that to ( Nissan KA24DE in my Frontier), so it didn't hurt anything. Would I run the cheap stuff for any real length of time in one of my vehicles? Of course not! Vehicles are expensive and even the crappiest good running car is a real gem to have. Yeah, if it burns oil I wouldn't worry about it, but if it just leaks I would. I would fix the leaks though so that you aren't pouring money down the drain.

I just don't see it jim. even the cheapest oil today or orders of magnutude higher quality than the "best" oil available when these cars were made. I like the idea of high grade oil only for FE. not for wear and tear. I just don't think it would make a difference. 496,000 miles in the cherokee using "whatever was on the shelf" we have multiple ford vans (I6 again) with over 350,000 miles and one with over 400,000 miles (Ford actually came out and looked at it :-) they were curious. all using nothing special oil. |

As I see it you would then have cheap shit oil mixed with your fresh Mobile 1. Did you also change the filter?
That's great mileage, but not due to your fancy money wasting flush. It's due to the fact you probably changed it religiously. I always like to ask: Where do people come up with these kind of ideas? |
