Hand Tools; What's your favorite flavor?

I am disgusted with Snap On. For the quality you get, the price is out of hand. Craftsman is pretty good for the price, but their ratchets are lame. Both companies have pretty good wrenches and sockets, but you have to suck pretty bad as a tool company to screw those up.

On a whim, I bought 3 Tiatn ratchets from Northern Tool about 5 years ago and they have been awesome! They are 5 degree ratchets that can withstand a lot of abuse. My philosophy is: take care of your expensive tools and beat on the cheap ones with a hammer. Those Titans have taken a lot of whacks with a hammer. I'm impressed, to say the least, considering I broke a brand new 3/8" Snap on ratchet on a 8mm bolt using very little force (and no hammer).

So what do you guys think? What's your favorite brand of hand tools?

Inb4 Fisher-Price.

Most mine are Craftsman; replacements are easy to get, and they're quality is good enough for the little work I do. I do not, however, make a living with my tools.

I usually use my expensive easy to exchange tool to beat on. The cheap tools is usually a hassle to try to exchange. I hate Strap-On prices. Kobalt tools or Gear Wrench are excellent tools for the price.

usually craftsman or depending on what I need I will stop in at northern tool. the pittsburgh wrenches bend like crazy but haven't broken one yet. lol. I think im gonna pick up a 10 pc gearwrench ratchet wrench set a sears today....they are only $35 until noon today. #00944001/2

only thing about gearwrench is if you break them you can't take them back to sears like craftsman (atleast thats what one guy that works there told me)

Not sure about the sears return, but napa carries them, and you can exchange them there.

^^^^ im assuming you would need a receipt though since you can buy them at other stores too??? or gearwench just gives another tool to napa? I have a broken gearwrench ratchet (the one with the hole in the middle). I liked it but just went to craps.
Craftsman also has an impact for 19.99 today till noon, probably not that great but worth a try. It seems that when it comes to air tools you get what you pay for, but there are some dirt cheap off brands you can buy and they work great, (not that often though).
No im not a craftsman/sears dealer, I just go for what has a good price, lifetime warranty, and what is convenient. I'm sure ryan will post on here saying how great fisher price tools are....he gets a commission on every tool he sells.
