Sidekick! (same as Tracker)

I was planning on replacing my Cherokee with a smaller 2DR Tracker/Sidekick when it died--but it still won't die!

The Tracker drives very similar to a Cherokee, but 4WD has manual locking hubs (at least the 1st gen). Wouldn't get a Chevy, though. They killed the suspension with the 2nd gen.

Those are the colors (white/black) I was looking for. Wanted a hard removable top--hard to find!

For a '91 (miles?), you should be able to get the price down--even at a dealership.

Good luck!

get a late 80's early 90's Jeep Cherokee. Extremely reliable Extremely capable and VERY affordable/easy to repair/work on. Also gets decent fuel economy 20mpg upto 22-24mpg with larger tires and eco driving :-) just make sure it has the I6 and NOT the V6 etc..

desirable is the SELECT TRAC t-case (ie it will have both a FULL time and a PART time option on the selector) this is good since you can use 4 wheel drive even when the roads are NOT extremely slippery (great for "black ice" conditions where you can NOT use normal 4 wheel drive)

with the tracker (much smaller less safe ie unstable but THEY ARE cool vehicles and I do want one :-)

but with the tracker and almost ALL over 4wd vehicles you can NOT USE 4wd if you can "see" pavement without great risk of damaging your drivetrain. ie the wheels MUST be able to "slip" to use 4 wheel drive.

you want something like a jeep with "full time" 4x4 option or something that has "AWD" style option (ie can use it anytime)

jeep can also hold a lot more (people and stuff) is more comfortable and can TOW pretty heavy trailers. (I have towed 4000 pounds with no problem)

Yeah...Pretty much a beast.

Toyota Tacoma, or an older Toyota pickup for the win!

Here is my 2nd vehicle, the 1st one being the Geo.

Try finding a decent Tacoma for $2K! I looked a few years ago--nothing less than 10K.

Nice ride Lightning--is that a 2000?

Nissan Frontier! They are very good little trucks. I have 360,000 one-owner miles on my 1998 4x2 and the engine has never been repaired or overhauled except for gaskets and seals. Best damn vehicle I ever bought. I doubt anything else would have held up as well to 12 years of pizza delivery. Plus, unlike the Taco, they don't have the frame rot issue.
