i live in holiday fl and i looked at two cars one in port richey and one in the naborhood by my house. i got it from a older lady that dident know what she had she told me that it needed 500 to 800 in work thats what her mecanick told her so iwent and looked at it she told me that it lacked power i took it for a test drive and it had a little los of power and i asked her how much she told me 200 and i said no problem we went to the dmv and put it in my name i got a realy good deal on it. i got a 96 1.l auto 133,xxx miles on it for 200 bucks that runs good it it dose need some work tho the inter needs re don and a few dents and needs a paint job and a mulfler but it runs and rives and shifts good. it was a two oner car. i took a look at the air filter and it was black and cloged and it needed a toon up but im doing some maintnce on it so i dont have problems later

it has a oil leak ithink it is ether a cam shaft or front main seal

tune up

water pump

timeing belt and tentner

front main seal and cam seal

and a winshild

then im looking for a doner car that has ben wrecked to get the interer parts but other than the wind shiled its going to coust is 150 so al in all 400 for a good runing car isent bad

i wanted to get the exfi 3/5 but the price was wright on this one for little work :rocker will have pics up soon and let me know what else could b done

That's a very good deal.

If you are getting oil out the bottom of the timing belt cover you may want to change the PCV valve and clean the tube out. If the PCV clogs, the can seal can blow out. Cheap and easy. B-)

If, in your travels around Holiday, you happen to come across a 1989-94 Metro with a 5 speed that is sitting in a yard please let me know. I could use a decent parts car for mine. The part of NPR that I live and deliver in has fairly strict code enforcement and unused vehicles tend to be quite rare. I have had to hide mine in the back yard to avoid suspicion. Even my next door neighbor didn't know I had it until I told him today-and I have had it for 2 or 3 weeks!

Also, should you have need of an automatic transmission I may be looking to get rid of mine for a reasonable price provided I can find the 5 speed parts. I am not 100% sure of the functionality though as it had symptoms of a failed transmission controller. I tested it and the shift solenoids work, but it would only upshift manually ( the classic sign of a failed controller).

That is why I will never live in a community ever again. I love living in the Boonies. Nobody bothers me, and I can do what I want out here on my 2 acres of land.

i ordered my parts from advanced autos on line to save the 20% and i ended up costing me double the price im now fighting with them to get my re fund cus they charged me twice for the parts but so far i got a roter cap roter pcv valve and and timeing belt

i put the pcv valve in to day and sea foamed the hell out of it and put a new oil filter and the oil leak i had is gone. i was confused y that hapend but im happy so next week i will tag it and and a new muffler

but i get alot of exaust smoke out of the engin bay so i hae to put it up on ramps to see if its the exaust pipe is bad but all and all a good project

i have ben woriking a lot and i close and then open the next day but im glad i get the hours so its takeing longer to finsh but hope to have it on the road next week
