All well and good, but my plan was to build an actual enclosure either out of fiberglass or particle board and then bolt that to the structure of the car. I agree that using it in a free air configuration would be less than ideal if not worse than nothing at all. Nor would I dare use the trim panel to support the considerable weight of the subwoofer. The trim panel would merely house the grille and cover the enclosure built in to the quarter panel's air space.
