Has anyone tried to attach a boattail to a metro? I have been on ecomodder and there is a good one on a firefly- The Blackfly. His thread was very good except on how to build it, how to attach it, what materials were used, how the dividers were constructed and other things. Maybe someone can expand on the construction techniques. After reviewing the mpg gain - 15% - I am seriously thinking of constructing one, but I do not want to drill holes in the hatch in order to attach the boattail. Since it is winter time in the north and y'all can't get out of the house because of snow drifts, I think you can use the extra time utilizing the grey matter between the ears and figure out how best to construct one. I figure nerys will be a major contributor to this thread, I also thing bogs and webb will chime in also. Let the fun begin. terry |

Here's my thread on a partial Kammback: http://geometroforum.com/topic/3027478/1/ and Robertwb70's blog on his: http://robertwb70.blogspot.com/ I don't plan on doing a full boat tail, but I thought this could be a good reference. I was able to secure mine without drilling. I ended up 3M taping aluminum tabs & 3M taped the coroplast to the tabs. They have stuck since last spring. I'll be interested to see another boat tail fill out. |

Actually, my aspirations on the metro body rework go in a different direction, I am quite satisfied with the mileage I achieve already and if anything, the body work I plan is likely to make it worse (but make the car more useful to me)
