This isn't a question, but rather I figured I would post what I found for anyone else who is looking for a source of these little buggers. It seems that these were some of the parts that Suzuki shared with Toyota and as such can be found on some Toyotas like Camrys and RAV 4's in addition to our cars. They can also be found ( in black) on E-Bay by searching either for "Suzuki trim clip", or "Toyota trim clip". I bought a pack of 25 from a Chinese seller for $8 with shipping yesterday and expect them to come in some time next month. While I am sure those who have been dealing with these cars for a while probably know this, I post this for the sake of the newbie (like me) who searches for this information but can't find a decent thread on it. Another tip: If you find a car with good clips in the junkyard, they CAN be harvested! To save you the frustration of breaking them before you learn how, I will post it here too. The pins in the middle will not easily back out. The way I get them out is to push them in one click and they seem to come in don't push the pin all the way through though or you will probably never find it again. just one click and it should come out and be usable- unless the clip was old and brittle to begin with. |
