I am looking for manual window regulators for a 91 Geo Metro and have not had the best luck. I am told by chevy the passenger side is discontinued but the drivers is available so I bought one from a friend in Ma. When I got this thing in it looked ok when doing a side by side comparison but after struggling for 20 minute trying to fit it in I checked it again and the spline shaft was 3/4" longer than the stock so I returned it. The sucky thing was it came from Mass and I'm in Ca oh well. I am planning on ordering one from a local Chevy dealer though it will be retail price and I will check the shaft length before buying it. I gave my vin # so does anyone know what car that new regulator really fit? Where can I get regulators? Chevy is a rip off at retail price and they might have the drivers side only. I haven't found any rebuilt Geo regulators I don't think they exist at least I havn't found any yet, or found any new passenger side there discontinued at Chevy. I would like to find some used ones for a rebuild project I am a designer and fabricator of after market exhaust and have access to a complete shop at my work. I want to try/attempt taking a used regulator and fab and machine a reconditioned upgraded window regulator that's my plan anyway. If anyone has some they are willing to donate that are no good to use on the car for the possible rebuild project? |

Does anyone know if a 93 metro firefly window regulator will work for my 91 Geo Metro ? They are both 2 door cars. |

The 89-84 body styles are the same. Check out ebay.com/geo+metro+window+regulator for used regulators and the 1995+ are different. Have you sprayed it with silicon and tried everything before replacing? |

I pulled both regulators and cleaned the guides and rollers and regreased them there better but still not great. There passenger is worn and loose so the window moves front to back as you try to roll it up so it's not smooth. The drivers side window won't seal properly and you have to pull the window back when you roll it up so it won't leak. The window was broken at some point before I owned it and when they put the window in the track they put it to far forward in the track. I did oblong the mounting holes on the track but there not enough material to make much of a difference, I may weld some stainless to it and machine some slots? I don't think I can remove the window from the track its in there real good some type of glue so unless I want to smash the window to replace a new one in the right position, not really into wasting a good window. |

Yes, the body styles are the same. Take a look at Window Adjustment and Window Regulators? It has been a while since I was in there looking at the regulator. However to solve the window closing I silicone sprayed the rubber, adjusted the metal tracks so they were narrow, moved the tracks in and out to get what I wanted and even bent the top of the door to get it to track and still close right. |

If you are still looking for a new one perhaps these guys can help http://www.suzukicarparts.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid=214820&chapter=§ionids=0,2732&groupid=51894&subgroupid=2745&make=33&model=Swift&year=1992&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=0 I'm sure they could also verify compatibility for you. Good Luck. |

Thanks, I just ordered some new ones from the Suzuki parts place so I hope the Swift is the same. It's a local shop so I can drive to pick them up. There more than I paid for the car, of course I got the car for free so $214.00 is high. If they do fit they should out last the car. If the ones in the car are original they should last another 15 20 years? |

The regulators would last forever if it weren't for the binding weatherstripping and people who just force the crank even though the weatherstrip is binding. Your new regulators are going to be trash in six months if you do nothing about the real problem. |
