I made it back Tues. Total miles for the trip. 2820. Total gas in gals. 58. Average mileage. 47+. I have not uploaded my pics yet. One the things I liked the best about this trip. Stopping at Der WeinnerShnitzel. Gotta love a good chili cheese dog. I really miss that living out at the coast. |

Yeah, but Kev, you probably have Taco Time, don't you? I Love Taco Time. We don't have that here in SoCal. The only thing that comes close remotely is Tito's Tacos in Culver City. And I gotta go over the hill and haggle with that damn parking and wait in line but they're worth it. But,oh, I miss Taco Time. |

Hey guys. I finally got to send my pics to the bucket. So heres a few shots from my trip. It was really cold.![]() This is the rest area just outside of Vale, CO. It was like 5 degrees at the bottom of the hill in Denver. This is a little over 10,000ft. To cold for me. And it had been snowing on my really hard all the way up the hill. Here's my nephews. Adam, 4 and Alex 14 mths. Even though I only was able to stay 2hrs. After a 26hr drive. Seeing them, Priceless. ![]() They are playing cheese in the pic. LOL This is a really cool old narrow gauge steam locomotive. I saw this on UT, hwy 6. It connects I70 just outside Green River UT. To I15 outside of Provo UT. I would have walked over to get a better shot. But that snow was hip deep. ![]() ![]() The Rocket at Bonneville. That is Sasha in the car. I would have pulled down off the road. But that wet salt is snicker that snot. ![]() Where the horizon gets very flat in the back ground is where the racing surface. |

Yeah there is a grill block. Its made from very light weight alum flashing. That is why the license plate is off set. I left only one small slot of the right hand side. When I went over the hill to Redding in the summer time. I had to use my stainless pocket knife to open up the bottom slot. Almost cut my durn fingers off. That aluminum is really sharp when around the jagged edges. Its rumpled up from hitting a fox just out side of Wendover, UT on my last trip to CO. Two years ago. I guess I could finally fix it. LOL @Yiffzer What is <333???? Yeah they are good kids. They love having their pics taken. They call it playing "cheese" Adam will be the flirt. Alex is gonna be the gear head I think. |

To think, I spent all that time washing the car right before I left. It saw a lot of snow and ice. |

Here is a shot of Adam and me. I am the one with the grey hair, and mustache.![]() Jittney here is a better shot from the front of the grill block. I also have the slot between the hood and bumper plugged too. ![]() Its the bottom slot that I cut with the knife. I know. It looks like it too. You can see how that fox messed up the flow of air. I think the boy was trying to figure out how to give me the bird.

Yeah, Kev, I'll vouch for that too. When I was struggling over North La Veta Pass on US 160 after Walsenburg, I was Struggling Real Bad too. Plus I was battling a 70 MPH Hurricane Force Headwind too. Plus my car was not running good to boot either. North La Veta Pass is about 9413 feet, Vail Pass is 10,666 feet and Wolf Creek Pass is 10,850 feet. The air is so thin it just starves our G10s to death. When I drove up Pikes Peak (14,110 Feet!) that was suffoccating too to say the least. Scary stuff when a Silverado is in your rearview mirror. Uggh! Hey, Kev. Remember when you and I stayed at the Super 8 in Reno and your car got broken into? Did you ever get that stuff replaced? Just a thought. |
