Fear the Mullet

On December 31st 2010 at midnight I quit smoking cigarettes and other stuff people smoke :doper

This is not going to be a major thread about my achievements, but it has been a full week so far and I have had no withdrawl symptoms or anything since I quit :spaz

I am now 40 and when I look in a mirror, I see someone who has kicked ass his whole life and wins every time :rocker

For the first time in my life, I feel I can do so much more. I may even start other projects like lifting weights "I lift things up and put them down" and riding that nice mountain bike I have in the garage. Call it a mid-life crisis or whatever you want, but I see myself going somewhere and 40 is just a starting age, not just how old you are. If you make it to 40, you passed the "dumbass" level and move on the the next step like Richard Gere did :whistle

Oh yeah, I did not quit drinking :hein

"I normally drink beer, and when I do, I get hammered" :drink

Life is full of surprises, but when you surprise life and all who surrounds it, you win!

I am now 40 and when I look in a mirror, I see someone who has kicked ass his whole life and wins every time Good Deal :thumb :thumb :thumb . Drinking for me was a real bitch to quit. I have been clean for quite a few years now but even so I have watch what I do. I am very glad you quit smoking!!!! I had quit drinking for about a year when I got stopped for speeding. I was all smiles and really felt good. The cop said" It dosent bother you that I am going give a ticket for speeding?" I said " Sure it does, no one wants a ticket, but if you had caught me last year it would be a DUI." Good luck in all you do, :banana :banana :banana

Congrats to you for not lighting up, if you made it this long, you can make it a lot longer. :thumb Sometimes it's good to be a quitter!! :lol

BTW, thanks for the over 40 comment. At least I'm past the "dumbass" stage!! WooHoo :rocker

Good to hear. I still get the cravings from time to time and wake up making the fish face puffing my pillow every now and then. I cant help to seem I got more done when I smoked even if I did smoke outside each time. Just fill your time with something else and avoid anyone else who smokes.

Been a mountain biker for about ten years now. lots of fun. Just quit smoking myself ( for the fifteenth time) in November. :stoner So far I'm doin good, haven't touched one. It was always kinda fun though to take some 20 something kid up riding and whoop his butt then light up a smoke when I got back to the car. The look on their faces was priceless. But had to quit. Can't dodge THAT health bullitt forever. Just hit 45 myself 4 days ago. Had my 16th grandchild born yesterday :'( ( I have 2 kids and 4 stepkids the youngest being 23, my wife is 6 years older than me) so I figured I need to give up one of my most favorite things, smoking. Its for the best. Congrats JM, stay strong, I'm coming up on 8 weeks myself, and I really think I'll make it this time and I hope you do too. Get that mountain bike out. Its about the only cardio exercise that is truly fun. I HATE running. :die Mountain biking is like riding a dirtbike, so you don't concentrate on how tired you are, you just enjoy the ride. :rocker Me and my buddies go riding in Moab every year, if you ever get the chance to ride there, jump on it. It is the mountain bike MECCA. Good luck, I am rooting for you. :thumb :banana
