Ok Here goes. I propose to have a Official GeoPalooza event on April 16 Like I stated before things might change a bit but every thing will be locked in when we get 60 days out. New Deal Proposed April 16 event Itinerary ....... 5 am till 11am Meet and greet at the pier. Talk BS, swap stuff, tell lies. 11am Caravan down the beach to the Dolphin Cruise boat and go watch the Dolphins(prices will be posted later after I talk to them about a group rate) Line up and we all roll to Lulus Restaurant for lunch/supper . We can go back to the beach , do a little souvenir shoping, watch the boats and watch the sun set on the gulf. Or go to Track where they have a neat go kart track and have the First international Geo on the Gulf champion race. I will do every thing I can to make this event a great experience for all. I under stand that some us will be running on limited funds. I will post prices for Lulus later on(think 12 to 15) for a nice meal. Remember check back often to see what is happening. Just remember the main object is for us to meet each other and have fun. Please speak up, your input is requested. I'm pretty sure I can make it, I'll drive up and get a room. I forget who it was in Texas that was talking about getting together somewhere around Austin. Maybe those guys won't mind driving, it's not a bad drive from Texas to the Pan handle |

I know that it will be too far for some of you to make it. Later on maybe we could put one together near Athens Ga. I have a Brother in law who lives there. But for now I need to try one close to home.

You left out the bomb museum. That was very cool. I saw several Korea era planes there. Also a B-52 which was stationed at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana. Also a Blackbird SR-71. really neat to get to look up into the bomb bay of the B-52. |

I think those are over at Elgin, near Fort Walton. ..............Driving onto the grounds of the Air Force Armament Museum, visitors first notice the array of numerous aircraft on display. The fastest plane ever built, the SR-71 Blackbird is the centerpiece flanked by numerous planes from the Korean, Vietnam and Gulf War eras. Inside the museum are four aircraft as well as a wide variety of bombs, missiles and rockets. Including the AMRAAM and GBU-28 bunker buster developed for use during Operation Desert Storm. |

Thanks for everyones input. I may have made a error already. The park closes at sundown for new visitors. That would make it hard on the people driving in for Friday night. So maybe we should plan on Saturday AM to start? Just thinking out loud. There are other options . Option Number 2 would be to make it a Full featured one day affair. Say meet at the Fishing pier in Gulf Shores , Check out the Geos, walk the pier, caravan to eat lunch and sight see the day away. Comments? [flash][/b]

Man, I want so much to go. I feel the pain of limited funds also. Potter, you think we could do it as a red-eye? Meet in Emporia and take I95 as far as necessary, then cut over and finish the trip? I haven't built my new engine yet, so that may be my biggest factor. Just some thoughts to ponder. |
