My engine doesn't high idle after heating with the Katz, so I'll call it good and move on.

All the metro ECUs that I messed with run CRAZY RICH when cold.

Fuel cut is disabled, closed loop is disabled, and you're stuck at about 0.45gph whether you idle high or not.
Accelerate and it just DUMPS the gas in.

To top it off our engines cool off really fast too. It would be good to seal off the engine bay somehow, only allowing air into the radiator.

I installed the heater and had to run to town everything seemed fine. when I came out of the store (car still running at an idle for about 10 min) it was blowing cold air and the engine temp was normal. I then opened the hood and the hose from the thermostat housing was hotish to the heater core and the hose to the tank heater were cool. this made me think that the tank heater is plugged in backwards. So I was looking for answers before doing anything stupid. so i didn't even plug it in yet.

OK... I need pictures, please. That and a Katz part number.

Mine 1991 looks like this:

"Cold" coolant (blue line) going in the bottom/side and hot coming out the top. The 1000W heater is mounted vertically beside/below the battery on the right.

changed the lines around and works fine. i guess i should have looked at it better. Plugging it in tonight to see how it preheats.
I am inline with the output of the heater core line.

I plug my 1000 watt heater in for 20-30 minutes and it heats most hoses. Does not show on the temp. gauge but it only takes 2 miles to get into the "optimal" operating zone.
