My Metro likes to chill out when it goes up the hill. You know... to enjoy the scenery.

Anything that struggles to get up a hill with just the driver in it isn't sports car. My Supra on the other hand passes cars very quickly up steep hills.
Ah, so my Metro is a sports car (does not struggle to get up anything I've thrown at it so far) ^o)

Any car that has to be floored and usually downshifted and can't really accellerate because of a small hill isn't a sports car. Hell, my 2003 Chevy Cavalier coupe struggled up hills.

Well, yeah, I did down shift to climb the 7%-8% grade, it's 5-6 miles long. I was doing 60-65 (70+), ahead of the Audi and F250, with power to spare, ie pull away. I don't think they were getting 50 mpg any part of that day. Ah, the limits of having just 3 cylinders. :die

I'm going to go out and do some drifting after this. :rocker

Audi A4 is the best car blah blah blah i can get 1,000,000MPGS and everything is better than a metro. You will never pass my A4 ever up a hill.

What is with the "bull shit?"I missed the point. My apologies, 944door

I was climbing a hill, doing 60-70 and so was everyone else. We were not racing. Who cares how fast anyone was going. Nobody wanted to go faster but I had the power to. Big deal. Nobody put their foot into it but I was able to go as fast as they were.

Yeah, somebody came along and went faster than me because they could. so.

I go up a small mountain going to and coming home from work using 1/4 gas pedal in a 96 5spd 4 cyl Metro in 5th gear, if I want to I can accelerate by going to 1/2 pedal on the grade, and I have passed cars such as Mini coopers on said mountain in 5th gear @ over 70 mph.

By your stated definition, I have a sports car, I've never had to either downshift nor floor my gas pedal to get over a mountain, never mind a small hill. Maybe its my big block making all the difference :lol

Seems strange it's the front you're worried about, it's the back end that looks goofy way up there. Nothing wrong with cutting your springs, as long as you don't go crazy with the amount of cut, and as long as you don't do it with a torch while the car is sitting on them (I've heard of worse stupidity before).
I really hope to meet you one day. I swear, every thread I read where I have something important to add... you get there right before me and make the same point I was going to. Other times I post my important info and you come along and corroborate it.

My first Swift GTi had the springs torched before I bought it. They were mangled. Hell, 2 of them actually didn't do anything. I could reach in when the car was on a lift and rattle the springs around because they were off both of the perches. Honestly, yo could do a lot to the springs on these cars and they'll forgive you.

It was weird ordering "lowering" springs that actually raised my vehicle ride height... ^o)

Also, if B+G still makes springs I'd recommend them. Great performance and they were powder coated bright red.

Yeah Woodie is the shit. I met him and we talked geo and drank many beers. He informed me of many things that I had no clue about such as why our seatbelts are so long on 90-94 metros.

Yes, I missed the point. Totally, My apologies, 944door. I edited my original post.

I get it now! :smackface

On topic, again, I would lower my Geo except for the header and Cat. are only giving me 4" of clearance and there are some pretty deep ruts in the snow around here. :banghead :banghead
