Why are our seatbelts so long on the 90-94 metros? :D

Sir, yes sir!

For a laugh I'd leave the front seatbelts secured and you could open the door, sit down, shut the door and you'd already be wearing your seatbelt. Maybe that's what he's referring to.

Because fat people need gas mileage too. I was going to say you have to buy me a beer before I'll tell you, but CityConnection gave it away. Now I've got to figure out another hustle to slake my thirst.

I'm not particularly bright, I just have no life, so I'm on here reading about Metros 24/7. Because of that, I know a lot of worthless trivia, and I can beat you to the punch with it.

i have a 92 geo metro, and from what i hear the springs are softer in the later models. I would like to lower mine still, but since there softer would it be a bad idea? and do i have to get new struts it i do decide to cut the springs?

I cut mine 1 coil in the front and 3/4 in the back, and I have the "softer" springs. It rides fine. :)

Many people cut 1 coil front and rear and said it still rides fine. No you do not have to get new struts.

The newer springs are NOT softer, they are stiffer. Also, cutting any spring will make it stiffer. You do not have to get new struts, but it's a good idea. Any strut with 100K miles on it should probably be replaced, plus, the stiffer springs will work better with a stiffer shock. Plus, you've got it all apart anyway, that's most of the cost.

You're not going to hurt it cutting them. Yes they are softer. Yes they will ride lower. Yes handling will probably be worse with them.
DO NOT CUT THEM .... it will hurt them .... coils are designed to have the first ring as a harded ring . its what keeps them shape of the spring and keeps them from turning or becoming misshaped (while going around a corner). the rest of the spring is soft to allow for travel. so if you cut it it will lose its shape over time( maybe while going around a corner with your kids in the car). call bell tech they can make you a custom set under a 100 ..... be safe spend the money and do it right.. ive seen to very nice trucks totaled because they cut there springs the spring gave way as the where turning not a pretty sight.

ive been doing lowriders for 20+ years i know how to lower and cutting springs is not it.
anyone have any information on the bell tech making lowering springs/struts?
