Im guessing the previous owner broke the key in the ignition becasue I only use half the key to get it started lol. I heard you can get a used ignition at a junk yard for cheap and it comes with a key. how exactly do you pull the old one out? is this a easy job? |

If memory serves me correctly, taking the plastic trim off the steering wheel is easy. 4-6 screws on the bottom of the plastic pieces covering the steering wheel. Then you have to dig around to find how many screws/bolts/nuts hold the turn signal to the column. When you have that peeled off then the cylinder will be exposed. Then the hard part begins. There is two screws that hold the cylinder to the column and those screws don't have heads. You will need to manufacture some sort of Mcguyver extraction tool so you can back the screws out. Once the screws are out the the cylinder will just fall off. I could be totally wrong and some facts could be incorrect, but I think that is close enough so you can get some insite on whats involved. Hope it helps a little. |

seems correct, I was reading the chiltons and it was saying something similar it was just a bit confusing for me but this makes more sense! I will most likley just take a punch and strike the screws with no heads into a flat head and then try and turn them out |

My suggestion would be to buy the whole steering column, it would a lot faster to replace the whole thing, than mess around with those non-headed screws. You might even get lucky and get the light and blinker assy. with it, that way you would have an extra. |

Very easy. It shouldn't take more than 30-45 minutes to replace the whole thing. |
