If a relative of yours back at the house fell and injured him/herself, a phone call to your cell phone as you are only a mile away just might save a life. Or something like that. |

I was taught Air, Food, Shelter and Water. "Shelter" included clothing. I would not want to die of exposure, per say, given a choice.

Fun California law: It is illegal to have anything affixed to the windshield of a vehicle. Yes, GPS units included. However, I have never seen a ticket referencing that CVC. |

They don't take them anymore. Just give you a ticket for having it. Ask me how I know. One good thing, no points off your license. Law reads something like it can't be within reach of driver. If you get pulled, unplug it & throw it in the back without being seen. lol |

If I ever used a radar detector (and I don't) it would be one hell of a fight for them to try and take my property I can tell you that for sure :-) as for shelter shelter is not a requirements its a luxury. you can survive just fine over half of this planet without shelter. you won't enjoy it it won't be fun its going to suck but you will live. |

Geez, fighting with the police will just get you into even more trouble. Unless you mean you would hire a lawyer and fight it in court.
That is just so wrong. Shelter is a requirement. Animals need it Over half of this planet is covered by water. There is no way you are going to survive in or on the water without shelter. Back on topic. Studies have been done in other states and they show an increase in accidents due to people texting or surfing the net. Seems people are holding the phone below the window line in order to not get caught. This causes them to have to look farther down in order to see the phone. |

How about you quote me properly. I NEVER SAID what you quoted woodie. NEVER. when you cut off PART of the quote you 100% alter the entire meaning of the quote negating the quote all together and you do that intentionally all the time. as for texting under the dash. Trust me don't work. I am no trained cop and I can easily pick out people "texting" under the dash. they can to and they NAIL them a lot. Most of the time they can't ticket them (no easily acquired proof) but the good cops pull them over and hassle them hoping to stop even just one person killing someone as they try and fail to multi task :-) god help you if your tires so much as touch the lines in the road they will give you a ticket if they "know" you were using your phone while you did it and I agree with them on this one. Ticket them up the wazoo. last thing I want is me or one of my family DYING cause a multi tasking failure killed them while sending a stupid damned text message. make it so expensive to text and drive that people stop for monetary reasons if nothing else. |

I agree with not wanting anyone to die from driving and texting. But if you want to stop distractions then how far should you go. No radio also? No eating in your car?...........I mean really its endless. Texting is by far the worst. And as you said earlier you could easily spot ppl texting under the dash...I know lots of people that you wouldn't be able to spot, because they dont have to look to text. I use to do it all the time. Then you can always push the button to read it a message back to you. Most people can't do that but I do know a lot that can. and your last line "make it so expensive to text and drive that people stop for monetary reasons if nothing else".......well shouldn't they just do that with every law then? |

There is no miracle cure for texting. Nobody wants to kill anyone by doing this. It's not intentional. There are distractions while driving and nobody can prevent this. You get distractions from music, other drivers, your kids or other passengers, ect. This cannot be prevented unless we just stay at home! One thing is for sure we do not need anymore laws. PERIOD! I do not need anyone telling me what I can and can't do. Laws are not made for the honest people they are made for the bad guys and they don't follow laws by definition. Guns don't kill people, people kill people with guns! Before too long we will have to ask permission to take a and get arrested if it's the wrong color or smell!! We do not need any more laws!
