The Spark is not a Daewoo in the same sense as the Aveo was. It was co-developed as a world platform by GM-Usa, GM-Europe and GM-Daewoo. Both the Spark and Sonic are internally called the Gamma II platform. The Cruze is built on the Delta II platform. Misinformation is out there and confuses a lot of people. Cars made on this platform come from many countries like China, India and of course Korea. Most that don't make the cars they sell come from Korea. GM has just recently stated that the Sonic sold here will be made at GM's Orion Plant in Michigan. I could not find any offical info on where the Spark will be built yet. Plenty of rumors like the Janesville Wisconsin plant though. Being the same platform I'd expect a lot of interchangability of parts between them. So you see, if you call the Spark a Daewoo, you have to call the Sonic a Daewoo as well. Have fun with them car payments. And higher insurance than the Metro because you are buying a New Car. You couldn't get me in a new car ever again. Not to mention higher registration too, esp, if you live in the Communist State. I like the idea of having the Pink Slip and Lower Cost of Ownership. No thanks, but I'll keep what I got; I'm on a quest to put 1,000,000 on the odometer, yeah! |
