Wow, how do you guys do it? You just go around feeling cold and numb? Do you wrap up to the point you can not flex your joints? I use to live in Fishersville, VA when I was in rehab and you basically felt cold all the time no matter what you wore. Here near sea level its a heavy shirt and a gortex jacket with gloves.

Wow, how do you guys do it? Layers.

Little or no cotton. My favorite turtleneck is Polartec with Thermastat. Fleece, thick fleece. Lots of clothing from a ski shop. Get to know Campmor, Woolrich, The North Face, REI, Deluth, Cabela's, LL Bean and get their free catalogs. :D I have always loved hats and they keep you warm. Mittens, my fingers don't stay warm in gloves. Two pair of socks in shoes 1/2 size too big.

It's an acquired skill. B-) But we are having a warm spell... 32F/18F. :banana

We go fishing in the winter

Brainerd Jaycees $150,000 Ice Fishing Extravaganza

The Extravaganza as a whole again was a major celebration, with probably close to 10,000 anglers braving sub-zero temperatures: The temp at the start of the tournament was about 6-below — about 22-below with the wind chill. And, for the first time, the governor was in attendance — Gov. Mark Dayton manned a line, although he didn’t catch a fish. In all, 724 fish were registered, with the top 150 good for prizes.

Waited until it warmed up to -8 to go snowmobiling yesterday. Not sure what the with chill is at 50mph plus, but you sure find out where the leaks in your helmet & clothes are! :'( After a few "technical adjustments" the following 100 mile+ ride was awesome! The sky seems "bluer" at 0 degrees & below. :thumb

Its gonna be 65 here today. Was the same yesterday. I got sunburned on my face painting the tops of the spent bins at work yesterday. I hate the sun. The upside it the Mad river is full of Steelhead right now. And the banks are lined with fishermen and women. Full. I think one guy brought his brass knuckles. LOL

Was 13F this morning. Supposed to go down to 10 tonight. Sucks! I hate the cold. Rather have sweat dripping off my nose than an icecicle hanging there any day. You guys & girls can have it. Call me a wuss or whatever. My hands are getting cold just typing this & thinking about it. lol
