I got play in front wheels, but not in rear?

Is that how it is supposed to be, because of different types of bearings....

the fronts being twin ball races and the rear being beveled rollers under torque?

Is it bearing or maybe a tie rod or ball joint?

How have you tested the play?

You might jack up the front end and grab the wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock and see if there is any play. You can grab the tie rods and see if there is movement. Then grab the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock and pull in and push out. There should not be any clicking or movement. Spin the wheel to see if it rotates freely.

Here is a good one...

Front and rear bearings are of the same type (single row ball bearings with a spacer in-between), and neither should have any play. Another thing to check is that the spindle nuts are tight.
