http://cgi.ebay.com/1998-Geo-Metro-Used-Engine-IS-Excellent-condition-/260733749556?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cb4f14934 Looks like a DOHC 3-cyl. The buyer has no feedback so I would beware. I saw this and it just confused the crap out of me! I know overseas there are some 3 cyl DOHC engines, but here?! I'm wondering how this guy got a hold of this thing, given that he actually has the item. |

Took a good look at the picture, and he has the single cam valve cover that obviously doesn't fit that head. Still confused.

minus the gears being together... and a few other things... but the intake, exhaust manifolds, and the valve train look exactly like the GTis' but i cant be 100% shure if its a G10 head. |

Maybe they're just using one head from a V-6, and didn't expect us metro owners to catch it.

I know that Daihatsu made 3 cyl DOHC engines during the 1990's but I have never heard of Suzuki doing one. It might be some sort of Kei Jidosha head. I dunno... |

already looked at that head... its not it... that one is a traditional head where the timeing belt rides on 2 cam gears... the cam gears of the one in the ebay add ride together and my guess is a gear system... most likely an engine for a 2 wheeled vehicle. |

Damn! This IS a mystery! The only other engine I could find that was a DOHC 3 is the Mitsubishi 3G8, and it has 5 valves per cylinder (comes from the Mitsubishi Minica). The only thing I can think of is that the cams might be locked together with gears and one of them is driven by a timing belt going to the crank.

This is in my area I believe, I saw it on craigslist. I'll see if I can go on a reconnaissance mission, and report back. |

I'M SOO up for it. I really want to see this. If it is a legitimate G10 head, I'll steal it for my metro! Steal being used figuratively of course... lol Edited by HavsCritiria, Feb 15 2011, 11:00 PM.
