It's a bit late, but here is a picture of the suspension being replaced:

Did you spray some sort of bed liner inside the wheel well? If so, it looks nice. Everything in this picture looks nice. You do good work, Tuffy. :thumb

Haha, thanks!
Everything looks nice because I replaced everything!

After I fixed up the rust I painted it with primer.
Then I painted it bright red.
Then I painted it over with rubberized undercoat.

If the undercoat ever flakes off, I should be able to see the red against the black quite easily :)

I added that swaybar a long time ago. It got new endlinks in that pic though to replace the old ones.

The RX-7 guys call them "Phone Dial Rims" - they're usually found on the four lug RX-7 FCs and people throw them out or give them away all the time as they upgrade to the five-lug hubs that have four piston front calipers, vented rear rotors (fronts are always vented), and of course, five lug hubs that can accept nicer rims.

I actually have six. Two with good tires, two with bad tires, and two with no tires. I want to clean the best four of them up and paint them white.

Next I have to figure out what tires to actually buy for them. Even though they're much bigger then the 13 inch wheels\tires I brought home for Tom's car, they feel like they actually do weigh less. I'm thinking I'll go with the same diameter as the stock 13 inch so to net a bit of a highway MPG boost, but not so large that the weight is really holding me down in the city (90% of my driving)

They're 185-70-14 (834r/m)
Vs the stock 145-80-12 (11lbs each, 954r/m)
Supposedly the 13 inch wheels are 155-80-13, and 16lbs each. (886r/m)

185-60-14 would net 887r/m - same as the stock 13 inch. They seem to be 16 to 18lbs a tire.
175-65-14 would net 879r/m - similar and they weigh a pound less usually, bonus that they are thinner and seem to be more common. (51PSi, 16lbs, $57)
165-65-14 would net 899r/m - LRR, 44PSI, 13LBS, but $85 each!

I need to buy those gorilla lug nuts or whatever first, apparently, wouldn't I? :)

Edit: Ordered them. Should be here in 3 to 5.

I'm thinking of cleaning all the rims up and painting them white, my friend Jon tells me I should save the weight.

I finally toasted that old RBC12 I was using. It had a decent run for how beat up it was. I left the lights on by accident one night last week and it never really recovered from that.

But I consider the test a success because it let me know that a single ancient\refurbished RBC12 was the minimum of adequate.

I ordered two brand new ones for $44.

I plan on getting this one. Guys over at TeamSwift says it does fine...and it's super light. Like 1.5lbs or something.

Cool. Too small for me.

Also! My bathroom scale says:
the stock 13" Geo rim + tire is 27lbs (155-80-13) (886r/m)
the stock 14" RX7 rim + tire is 30lbs (185-70-14) (834r/m)
