Machine shop says the block should be ready next week.
I have all the parts either cleaned, soaking in the dip, or soaking in detergent.

I hope to paint the parts before the block comes. When the block comes I will do a final mockup.

Cleaned a bunch more stuff. Put down the first layers of base paint on a few things. The base paint is red, but when I'm done you won't see any red, the final color scheme is black\silver\cast iron as you can see on the fuel rail and thermostat housing in the picture.

Turbo3 and Twincam Tweaker

tofu, another suggestion for you if you're going to megasquirt that. the clt sensor on the turbo3 intake manifold has a suzuki curve, metric threads. you can replace that with one from a 2005 aveo that has the chevy curve (the default for the megasquirt) with metric threads that fit the turbo3 intake manifold.

i'm telling you this because you'd find out that every time you modify the msq bin file (to change your tune) you also have to input the suzuki curve. the aveo clt with the default chevy curve lets you skip that many more key strokes.

it might not sound like a big deal, but spending the $17 on the new clt will save you a ton of aggravation up the road. :D also, it's way easier to screw that clt in with the engine on the outside of the car.

Hrm, thanks for the warning. I never had that issue with the RX-7s that I've MSed, and I've never MSed a Suzuki so if you hadn't mentioned it I wouldn't know :)

Be sure to let me know anything else that comes to mind before I get too deep in this . . . :D

doing the sequential deal requires the cam angle sensor. this guy makes an optoisolator board for the prototype area on the version 3 ms that makes life a lot simpler when you add the second timing sensor on the cam.

the megasquirt2 only has the single trigger circuit. this cat makes the second input, opto or vr conditioners.

Actually, I'm really debating using this MS3 unit, unless my friend buys it off me.

By the way, speaking of megasquirting other people's cars, I used to use RX-7 coils primarily for that, they're big and powerful... I have a few left over if anyone needs them . . .

i have a friend, tomislav in croatia, who has a very developed msx3 setup on his suzuki twincam. honestly, on the 3 banger it's probably way, way overkill. the msx3 has 8 channels of sequential injection and 8 channels of ignition. that's 5 channels of each that you don't need for the g10.

what i do need to find are 2 more high impedance 460cc maroon top injectors from a mazda rx7 to match the one i have now. i need a set of 3 for my new turbo3 engine.

Oh look what I have lying around not counting my Suzuki, 3400, or Camero injectors . . .

So I have this Celica GTS - I'm tempted to swap the rims off that because I think they look nicer and weigh a little less then the RX-7 ones. I'll check weights to be sure.

The Celica rims would be 225\60\14 - or 205\60\14. A bit wider but around the same height. I'd have to check to make sure they even fit in the first place (offset, etc)

Will be interesting to see if the 225's or 205's actually work. :news Those are pretty large tires. :O My 185/60R14's is about all I'd care to go. B-) Even on my Race Geo, as my bride calls it. :nfs The larger skins might bog 'er down. :hmm

The offset pushes the wheels further out. Might screw with the steering though :o

Those are huge, I doubt if they'll fit without serious rubbing. Maybe the 205's but for sure not the 225's, my 195's rubbed a little until I rolled the fenders. They're also much taller, the 205's are about an inch taller, the 225's almost two inches.

If they fit without messing up the steering I'd want to find a lower profile tire that still allowed me to use these rims :)
