OK, I'm going to try and get those pistons 3tech wanted to make, and then bore accordingly.
Perhaps I'll be able to use those total seal gapless piston rings.

Well, he says those will work but the quench will be a quarter of what it should be, and that he could machine them for $50 a set.

But he also says he could make a set from scratch if there was enough interest, I'm trying to find out what the run size would need to be.

They don't seem to cater to the consumer level crowd, do you have one of those laying around? :)

I'm embarrassed about how rigged it is.
Also I haven't tested it yet.

Ordered 0.020 oversize pistons from parts dino. From an MKII tracker. 3Tech is on vacation for a week so I'll ask him about possibly machining them when he gets back.

Looking into ordering rings from totalseal.

Ring sizes are:
Top: 1.20MM
Midde: 1.50MM
Oil: 2.80MM

Bore is 2.9134 inch + 0.020 inch overbore = 2.9334 inch bore.

Awesome, I just found the tires for those two RX-7 spare rims - Continental ContiEcoContact EP - 145-65-15 - LRR - 44PSI UTQG: 240 A A - $66 a shot. They can be mounted on the rear, nice and thin and quite light, and leave plenty of room for a cover!

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Continental&tireModel=ContiEcoContact+EP&partnum=465TR5EC&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

Opinions?

Tofu, where did you get the trigger wheel for the MS? Also how did you set up the spfi? This is what I would like to do for my new turbo project.

Pulled the trigger on the tires.

Would you like my 32-1 trigger wheel? I'll sell it to you real cheap. I'm using a different method - the crank gear off a 98+ 4cyl.

What do you mean set up the SPFI? I'm just using the stock turbo manifold and drilled holes in the head to accommodate the injectors.

The block heater I installed looks exactly like this, but it was made in 1978: http://www.amazon.com/Kats-12010-Watt-External-Heater/dp/B000I8VKMQ/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&qid=1320668006&sr=8-19

It does in fact work!

Is it necessary to run the turbo manifold? What is the benefit of using the 98+ setup?

98+ 4cyl setup has a MS compatible higher resolution wheel (32-2-2-2).

It's not NECESSARY it just makes it a lot easier as it has the provisions\fuel rail for the injectors. I can post pics if you want.
