There's some really good flow diagrams in the FSM that help with diagnostics. :thumb

Might find a good one on eBay.

Allright, I'm home, but I'm not supposed to do anything till I get cleared. So no updates other then I got my MAAS header flange in the mail and it is quite nice!

It makes it smoother and more reliable at higher RPMs. Shouldn't really effect MPG IMHO (WARNING: OPINION)

If you want to see MPG stuff, check the thread in my sig :D
You know it actually just dawned on me I looked at your 32 pages before. I loved your post! how's your fuel injection system going?

Haha, thanks everyone! It's encouraging to hear that, one of the big reasons I post about my progress is so that other people can repeat it.
I keep getting sidetracked with my job and a trip to the hospital for heart issues (who knew you could get a random infection of the lining of your heart?).
My original plan was to do ABA testing each step of the way, but that's changed due to how long it's taking me to do everything and how little time I have (It's just me, no one else is really helping me).

I've had FANTASTIC success getting the MPG to go WAY up with proper tuning on other vehicles, that were mostly built for power; I'm sure I can get results with this purpose-built engine.
I've been tuning cars for years, and I really am getting tired of just tuning for max power. I've had to grow a lot in my knowledge to learn about increasing MPG. Seriously, years of research, and I am AMAZED by how much BAD information is out there, even by respected sources.

Stuff left to do is simple though, I need to:

1) Get the MS3 unit itself back from a friend I lent it to. (I built an MS2 specifically for this car, but I'm going to use my MS3 instead)
2) Actually build the wiring harness (I am not going to use this plug-and-play adapter I made, whole new harness instead)
3) Weld the TB holes, and the exhaust header (With EGT and WBO2 sensor)
4) Build the rest of the fuel system (complete with ethanol-%-in-fuel sensor)
5) Retorque the head
6) I want to get ahold of a 93/94 Swift GT to actually put this engine into :/ This probably won't happen, so I'll pop it into my DD XFi.

Getting about 40mpg avg ultra-urban right now (stop and go, light to light, a few WOT pulls, NO sustained or high speeds), E10, 10-20F temps.

Still running the stock ECU\engine.

Get back to 100% on your health. Hope u do everything possible if its possible. I know how expensive those visits to doctor can be. That's a whole other topic though. Can't wait to see the complete project done so we can see those high mpg's! :thumb I surely want to do the same.

I don't know if I mentioned this before, but about seven months ago I got transferred to a new job, since then it's been hard getting in the swing of things and finding time to work on this project.

Today I finally found a little time. I installed two 6.5inch speakers where the factory four inch speakers were, put some open cell foam in there to cut down on noise, and replaced my shift knob.

It's not much, but I'm just happy to be working on it again :)

It's always relaxing to get back to something you like doing when life has a tendency to get heavy and overwhelm you. Glad you are back to enjoying your Metro. :cheers

Got under the car to install the frame brace today. It's about a half inch off. Now I have to figure out how in the world to adjust the frame back to normal.
