Looks like the cable, some how, was not wrapped around the pulley. :smackface That would make the cable break quite easily. :die

Also pulling from the top of the horn, rather than the bottom of the control arm, provides less mechanical advantage. :banghead

My Wife's 93 adjusted with minimal effort when hooked like the Turbine Tech illustration. ^o)

Give it another shot, with a new come along, hooking at the bottom. :gamerz You'll get it. :thumb
Allright, thanks, I'll give it another go :)

This kind of stuff is not my usual mess . . .

I would say you should wrap it around the pulley, and hook it to the bottom side of the frame horns. Should be real easy with that 2:1 advantage you get with a pulley.

EDIT: Snowfish beat me to it.

My own stupidity aside, I've been so busy at work that I have nothing left for working on my projects.

I can't even run calls that aren't classified as an emergency right now.

No progress has been made. Sorry guys!

tofu, that project will be there when you feel up to working on it.

once you start feeling better you'll get that inertia back and get moving again.

take it easy, buddy.

Tried driving all-out for a tank. Pedal to the floor if it would get me there faster.

All city, no highway.

Did you know the oilpan fits right into a milk crate?

That is my new work surface as I finish up this engine.

Started back up working on this thing, finally got the place clean enough to do the work. Prepped the XFi to have the perfectly good engine removed to be harvested for parts for the new engine.

Put the pickup tube, oil pan, and crank position sensor on. Then did this:

That's the cold start injector supply tube. I cut it from the fuel rail and welded the hole (new design does not need a cold start injector). I'm going to use the remaining pipe\injector for water injection experiments.

It's not much of an update, but posting helps keep me encouraged to work on this thing.

Harvested the XFi cam, here it is next to a normal cam, you can see the difference (the XFi is the "pointy" one)

The XFi cam is also "hollow" and weighs noticeably less. That could just be an earlier generation cam thing.

I found that the cam sprocket I had bought was not the correct one, it is a thin one just like my '94. So my project is again on hold until I can find a "thick" sprocket. Anyone have a spare they'd sell me?

Got 70 MPG?

Thick, like a 5 spoke sprocket rather than a stamped one?

I think it is also five spoke but thicker then the earlier stamped ones. I'll post pictures of the two next to each-other when I get it in the mail, Geo Glenn just sold me one.

Got 70 MPG?

Are you talking about the ones from the 1996 and up cars?
