Remove the sparkplugs on the bank that blew. Automatic three cylinder.
It'll still force all the coolant out in short order.

Try blue devil. Remove the plugs of the suspected leaking cylinders as to remove any pressure on the gasket, flush the cooling system, fill with water, add Blue Devil, let it run for an hour, and it should be fixed. They offer money back guarantee, so there isn't much to be lost. Give it a go.

I know that stuff can work for a while on gasket to exterior or gasket to oil seepage leaks, but I don't see how it could work on a head gasket to cyl leak like mine :/ It's fighting with extremely high pressure - or are you saying run it with the spark plug out?

Got 70 MPG?

There's no cure for a BHG other than a new head gasket. :thumb

In all my years of working on cars, that's been my conclusion as well. :/

I don't see how a stop-leak product could stand up to combustion chamber conditions.

You know what, I'm going to try this head gasket repair stuff. I figure it's worth a shot even if it works for only a month, as at the pace I'm going the Geo should be running in two weeks or so.

Well, I'll tell you what. My metro's radiator broke on a drive to North Carolina, and since my thermostat was no good I didn't notice until I had well overdone the head. It was leaking so bad it was shooting water out of the reservoir. I didn't have much choice since I was in the middle of nowhere in South Carolina 300 miles from my mom's place and 400 from mine. I spent the $70 for the blue devil, pulled the plug of the cylinder that was leaking the worst, and let it run for an hour. It's been 2k miles since then, no leaks, compression still in the 200 psi range. If that's not testament enough to at least try it, then I dunno what is

That gives me a bit of hope. I'll try it.

I am amazed that this car starts, runs and drives with a whole bank of spark plugs removed.

It's a Toyota, and I'm guessing it's an older one as well?

I bet a new one wouldn't run if it had that problem. They just don't make Toyotas like they used to...

I'm back on the road thanks to one of the members here (Boydness) giving me a van to drive O_O

I drove out and bought lots of wire and hose and hope to have the Geo running soon... this thing is expensive to feed!

'93 Camry. I haven't really been impressed with it.

Well, it's in, 11 more hours till I can refill the system and check it.

Anyway, the Metro is almost all together minus the MS part of the wiring harness. I'm re-thinking the way I'm going to do sequential and talking to t3 about it.

Here is a picture of the sensor that will detect ethanol content of the fuel going to the injectors, and allow me to adjust using a map on the MS to reduce MPG loss from using Eth.
