Good luck with the toyota.

That is cool. Use the MS to minimize the ethanol losses.

The head gasket sealer on the Camry reduced the leak, but did not plug it.

I rewired the plug last night for the MS3x. MS2x would normally be fine BUT I CAN'T FIND MY MS2x UNIT and I have this MS3x...

When I'm done and this is running, I still want to write up a tutorial for how to make a cheap ($220+Injectors\rail) MS2x sequential system adapter and share some maps so other people here can reap the benefits (if I can show any). You don't have to do all the other crazy stuff I'm doing, the core and heart of my project is the MS running sequential.

I also want to thank the people on this forum who have been extremely helpful in helping me figure out some aspects of this project, PMing me with info, and selling me parts.

After looking at MAAS's work, I've decided to use his header rather then mine, and not use a factory manifold as my exhaust manifold is junk and I'd rather not pay for another when a header not only weighs less, but will provide better EGT Thermocouple location with more consistent readings, and O2 sensor location (The current O2 sensor location is TERRIBLE for a WBO2). I plan to modify them a bit to insulate them except on the top where I shall have a vacuum actuated ram-air style hot-air intake that I can switch to under low load (Highway cruising).

Parts came! The BMW coils are "Dumb" coils, they don't know how to handle their own dwell, they don't have internal ignition modules.

So, tear the modules directly out of the BMW ECU that they live in!

I'm going to put them in an external enclosure because they're electrically NOISY.

Replaced the bearings on the passenger side front.

Spark control assembled.

It'll get an exterior heat sink and then be enclosed in that black box pictured above.

tofu,

nice job on the drivers. you know that dwell and all the other spark control is written into the megasquirt code.

make sure that you have the ignition table set up correctly before you plug the coils into the drivers. the wrong selection of invert/ rising-falling will smoke the coils in a new york second.

OH CRAP! I got green goop all over it! That stuff will take forever to clean.

It's liquid electrical tape - since this thing is going in the engine compartment, I don't want it shorting out via wayward raindrop.

Good advice, these are the directions I followed: http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_articles/using_bosch_bip373s_with_megasquirt.htm

I found it under that tree. It had been sitting a while.
Fixed a few things and it went right through inspection.

Tofuball,

Another nice layout. I found that using fresh butter daily improves fuel economy as well. Also try dumping 5 gallons of 90 weight on her helps with keeping that rust away. Keep posting, I will keep learning. :news
