Hello all, I've lurked here for a year gaining much valuable info using the search feature.

Thanks.

I can't find this on search though. My oil dipstick went missing last week. (Don't Ask)

I have some others laying around that can be modified, so if someone has the correct dimensions, or can shoot an image with a tape measure next to their dipstick, I sure would appreciate it.

Thanks again

Total length of dipstick is 18 3/4 inches

Length of dipstick that is in metal sheath 13 3/16 or almost 13 1/4 inches

When you put the dipstick in engine, the part you can not see is 13 3/16 inches

My dipstick is slightly longer than 96Geoman. I have a 1993 Metro 1.0.

13 3/4 inch or 27.5cm long for the business end.

Just a close up of the very tip.

A better close up showing the crosshatch for oil depth.
23cm to 25cm = 1qt of oil.

A link to all the pics I took in case these are not enough.

I just found my 1996 dipstick. I replaced my 96 1.0 with a 93 1.0 but kept the 93 dipstick.

I compared both dipsticks.

Both dipsticks will register correctly in the 1.0 engine

The 1996 dipstick is longer than the 93 dipstick

The only differences are:

the 1996 dipstick has a longer handle

the 1996 dipstick has a longer blade (about 1/2 inch longer so the words 'ADD 1 QT' can be stamped on the blade. Also has 'FULL' stamped above the fill mark)

the 1993 dipstick has 2 small holes in the blade to show the full mark and 1 quart low mark.

Would a 1995 1 liter Geo Metro have the same engine dipstick dimensions as is mentioned in the 1993 Metro discussion. I also am missing my dipstick.--thanks to all
