Remove the plastic panel under the steering column.

Remove steering column mount nuts and lower column about 3-4 inches.

Remove screws in the black plastic cluster trim and remove trim.

Remove screws holding the cluster in place.

Gently pull cluster forward.

NOTE: I found it easier to disconnect the speedo cable from the trans and feed some slack in. You might not need to.

Disconnect the three wire connections gently.

Disconnect speedo cable by gently uncliping.

Remove cluster.

Sounds tricky but my 14 year old can do it in under 5 minutes now. We have swapped a few clusters in trying to get a working tach.

Install is reverse.

I did mine again just a few days ago no need to really take the plastic around steering column off just the four screws holding the trim around the cluster. This was on a 1990 new may be different

Agree. We never took the column plastic off our 93. Only the panel under the column.

You only need to drop the column. I removed the plastic since "i was their" and it came right off so I could clean it (and I did my Turn Signal Multi Switch upgrade at the same time)

Thanks to everyone that posted in this thread. Big help with my swap today, too easy. Another successful 3 cylinder speedo cluster upgrade.
