I have a 91 Metro with a 5 speed. I have a vaccum line that comes out from under/next to the carb. It has an inline white disk. In some of the photo's I have looked at on this site, It appears that it connects to a unit/module of some kind that is mounted on the firewall, Passenger side, just next to the body VIN. It has the vac line & a electric connector/plug attached. I do not have this unit/module on my car???? What is it for? Do I need one? (I do not have A/C), and what is it called? Thanks. |

![]() {The map sensor is on the firewall behind the airfilter cleaner.} I believe thats the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor vacuum line. The round disc is a check valve. Edited by 96Geoman, Apr 3 2011, 02:16 PM.

The white circle is your map sensor and if that is what you are talking about, you need it!

Yes, it's the MAP, but the white round in-line fitting is actually a fuel vapor filter. |

Yes, that is it. Looks like someone has removed it from the car I have. There is a 95 or 96 Metro (with same engine) in a junkyard near my house. Will that MAP sensor work on my 91 Metro |

Autozone shows a differant part number from a 91 to a 95 and a differant price too. That being said, no. Heres the 95 and it is about half the cost as your 91. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/1995-Geo-Metro/MAP-Sensor/_/N-j1hutZ9gsm7 |
