When i turn the AC on in my metro, the engine freaks out. i had the hood open yesterday and the engine looked like it was about to jump out. is this a sign of a vacuum leak? |

Does it only do that at idle or will it smooth out when the engine is running at a higher rpm? |

Its probably because the extra load is lowering the RPM's these engines shake a lot at low RPM's. There's a system that's supposed to increase the idle when the AC comes on to counter the load, yours may not be working or working correctly. Its this thing:![]() (not all cars with AC seem to have these, but all factory AC cars should) |
