Hello, I have a 95 metro with a 3 cylinder. Lately, after the car sits for a few hours, I'll go to start it up and it sputters and runs real rough. After about 30 seconds of driving, it clears up and runs like a champ. It started happening about a month ago, but was barely noticable. Now, it needs to be dealt with. Any suggestions? On another note, I need to replace the radiator, but the local stores charge $150 bucks! Any place you guys reccomend? Thanks, Brett

Welcome to the forum. Perform or have someone perform a engine compression test. Is the check engine light on?

My dads mini-van used to do the same thing. Turns out a fuel line nut was cracked a little. Not enough to leak significant amounts of gas but enough to let air in the system when sitting. Check ur fuel lines. try turning the ignition on and off a few times to cycle the fuel pump and force the air through, if runs normal after this then it fuel related. could be leaky injector too, take of air filter housing and airfilter and look to see if the injector leaks after shutting down. Also many other things it could be though. :(

good starting point is a compression check.

rockauto.com has a radiator for 85 plus ~10 to ship.

Have someone pull the code if the check engine light is on. Try cleaning the egr valve and intake ports and replacing the vacuum lines associated. Just did it to my 97 metro and it runs great.
