EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED. Figured it out about 3 minutes after posting this. I'll take some pics and post hem here later for the next newb who has a similar problem. :P

Hey guys. Just about set to pull the head on my 96 3/5 hatch and was giving it a one over to check for any hoses or wires that I missed when I realized that I have not removed the throttle cable yet.

Been searching the site for a while now and not coming up with the appropriate info on getting this sucker loose. Anyone have a suggestion/photo/link? Thanks in advance.

Loosen the nut that holds it in the bracket enough to slip it out. Then the cable loops around and goes into a slot. Very simple.

Yes, I had loosened the nut already but I couldn't get that little plug out of its slot. When I walked back out there, I turned the bracket to the position it would be at if you had the throttle wide open and it slid out like butter. B-)

Loosen the locknut on the throttle body. Then spin the bottom nut all the way off the threads so you can pull the cable up out of the bracket. Now take the loose cable toward the firewall and pull the barrel end out of the hole in the linkage.
