No. It will offer you absolutely no advantages over what you are using already. It can't touch your green stuff or it turns to mud. Also, I think it thickens with age. |

I've been using SuperTech (Wal Mart) coolant, mixed 50/50 with distilled water for years. It's nothing fancy. My suspicion is that it comes out of the same manufacturing facility as some name brand liquid. Pre-Mixed is also available. I prefer to mix my own. Less $/gallon. I have no experience with the GM product. I'd go with the Tofuball report on that one. |

Basically if you flush your system out really really well, you can use it, for not discernible advantage at all. It'll probably work fine. If you want to "upgrade" you can use the VW style coolant. . . so that you can pay more for no discernible advantage at all! ![]() |

Geo Glenn, Your spot on. With all of the products at wally world, you can ask an employe (if you can find one) to scan it with there handheld and it will tell them the current suppler of that specific product. It changes with the season, supplier price , region etc..... I've seen Supertech oil sometimes Quaker State, sometimes Penzoil, sometimes no name. Last check of a couple of months ago in B'ham area for Supertech coolant.......Honeywell AKA Prestone!! |

Be it right, or wrong, I use the yellow Durex that can be blended with any antifreeze. Seems to work great as a stand alone, with 50/50 mix of course. I can top off any vehicle that comes to my garage. Plus, if I have an issue, I don't have to worry about what antifreeze to add, to get me back home. |

I prefer something that I can refill without being picky... You never know when you're going to pop a rad hose and may not have a choice on what to top off with

I prefer air cooled for certain applications, no doubt, but for all season use its hard to beat liquid cooled. |

Dexcool is crap, but it keeps a lot of mechanics employed so if you like to have cooling system problems and give your money away then I would recommend it, if not avoid it at all cost. |

DexCool isn't compatible with certain types of gaskets or other types of coolant. Honda forbid GM to use that coolant in the Saturn Vue (equipped with a Honda engine), GM ignored Honda and the cooling systems started failing. Never had any problems with the green stuff myself, regardless of brand. |

i have seen way to many failures from orange dex-cool.its crap.for some weird reason it thickens with age-then when it gets flushed it starts leaking or just plugs stuff up-if someone puts any other color in, it coagulates(gets thick, like lumpy gravy) then your motor stops cooling plugs up everything. ITS JUST PLAIN CRAP. I use green diesel antifreeze,50/50 mix. |
