thank you so much jittney for posting my picturs here i have no clue on how to do that thanks again. and that would be great wobblybob on getting me those pictures.as for my pictures the carburotor was what was on the car when i bought it and when i looked at the car the idle was at 3000 rpm but i just figured when i got it home i would adjust it and it would be alright, well when i adjusted it it was fine but when it warmed up it would die so i made another adjustment with the same result so i got the rpm to 2800 anything under that it will die. but now even cold the engine can't be under 2200 rpm or it will die so i don't know whats left on the carburator soi just wanted to take it back to the original fuel injection. well i posted an ad on craigslist for 1991 seats and tbi well i buy both from a guy and when i try to put the seats in the rails don't line up with the factory holes in the car ( the reason i needed seats was cause the guy i bought the car improvised the way he put the 2 volvo seats in) so i called him and told him what my measurments were and what his seats were and they didn't match and he told me there from a 1995 and both parts will interchange. so on the tbi which is whats currently installed on the motor has a tps on the side of the throttle body but i have no connectors to it and it also has a big gray plastic thing on the back of the throttle body with a place for a good size connector to go. i am still confused on why there is 2 might be another just haven't looked but connectors for fuel injectors like the ones that hang on fuel rails if this is something different what are they. well i know alot of you already know whats wrong here and i am indebted to evryone. i never knew owning a metro was so awesome and its cause of all you guys and its so good knowing people still care and want to help their fellow man happy engine rebuilding :D

If the original computer is set up for a carb, I believe you'll have to install a 1995 computer and wire harness to make that TBI work.

Good bye

Older Japanese carbureted rigs had a anti-dieseling solenoid. It sounds like there was no power to the solenoid. What you describe is having to get above the idle circuit to make it run. This was a common problem back in the day. Your best bet is to get a 89-91 intake and tbi unit, then everything on your car should plug in. In one of your photos it looks like the map sensor is there, some more pictures of the firewall and harness will help. I can take some photos of how a 91 should look if that will help.
