Rusty wristpins and a stuck ring

It seems I'm in a bit of a pickle. XFi motor I have was in good shape except for 1 piston that is a bit skinned up and I do not want to use it. So, I decided to go ahead and rip apart another motor I have that blew a head gasket. Everything looks good on it and I really only need the connecting rods and pistons. However, there is a small amount of rust on the connecting rod surfaces and on the wrist pin inside the piston. Two out of the three barely want the piston to rotate freely, while the middle piston is free as can be. My question is, should I simply spray the crap out of them with penetrating oil and let them soak in an oil vat for a while to free them up? They should technically still be okay to use right? Lastly, it seems I can not find the actual end of one of the rings. It's the middle ring on piston #1. There is no gap at all and when scratching it, one can't feel an edge. How do I get that bugger off? Should I dremel a small gap to break it off? If anyone has dealt with these issues, please let me know.

Soak them in a can of kerosene overnight and work them back and forth a few times while soaking and see if they free up.

This may sound silly, but I'm not sure where I've seen kerosene around here. Is it available at the hardware store or someplace like that?

Pistons are freed up. Got all rings out except for the one that I can't see or feel a gap or end for. Guess I'll let em soak tomorrow. :) Thanks soooooo much guys! I'm so close!
