This engine was completely rebuilt 10,000 mi ago. I am assuming it needs a head gasket. I`m wondering why it failed. The mechanic says he replaced the head bolts. Adin |

Welcome aboard Adin. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Assuming is a dangerous thing to test. As many here will tell you "test, do not guess". A compression test is where i would start. Good Luck! |

I put a pressure test overnite. The pressure was still the same in the morning but #1 cyl did shoot some vapor out the spark plug hole when the engine was turned over. I followed the advice of the parts man and put a thirty dollar can of "bars leak" sealant in and got it to stop smoking. Now it runs good but overheats after a mile or so. Did I gunk it up too much for good coolant flow? thanks Adin |
