I am doing a rebuild and didn't even see how the thrust washers came out. does any body have a post on the crank part of a rebuild. I have seen Johnnys block but it didn't say much about the bearings and the washers.

Sorry to take so long. I know you want to get crackin'! Had some problems with photobucket. Well, my problems. Here's a shot, that I took, at disassembly. ![]() Grooves go towards the crank. Show us your progress, when you get a chance.

![]() . I am just wanting on my rings to cone in so I can put the pistons in. I was looking and don't remember if the cut outs go together or apart. I thought they go together but ain't sure. Plus. Why does the rod bearings have oil holes on all of them. I thought it would be like the crank

There is an etched number/letter on the split of the rod big end. Match the numbers and letters. The triangle/arrow on the rod cap points towards the front ~ pulley end ~ of the engine, as well as the arrow on top of the piston. There are alignemt arrows on the main journal caps, also. Looks like from the grunge marks the notches go on opposite sides. The rod bearings would cost 2x as much to manufacture if one side had an oil hole, and the other didn't. 2 sets of manufacturing tools, etc . . . Go figure on the main bearings, though! There is a difference. |

No the metro don't have the 3.8 in it. But I do have a whole motor trans and engine cradle that my buddys and I tossed the ideal around about putting it in the back end of the metro. Ferios are getting hard to find. Lol |
