My 2000 1.3 metro has developed an oil leak around what would be the distributor on the older models and the parts store can not find a listing for a gasket or seal to replace it, not sure if it comes in the gasket kit or not. Has anyone had to replace this and could you just buy the gasket or seal?

I actually replace this today just went to the auto parts store asked for the O ring for the distributor they had to order it when home took out the cap then pulled the Roter then take the 2 screws that you would loosen to do your timming and it pops right out as soon as it pops out you would see the o ring take it out and put the new one in , put everything back on it can only go in one way
Ps before you actualy take everything off make sure you mark the distributor so you don't loose your timing or this would be a good time to set your timing this took me about 15 minutes and it was the first time Ive done it

Does yours have a distributor? Mine has the coil packs , so I am not sure if it still takes the oring or not.

I have a 2000 geo 1.0 I believe is the same , it's right where the cap and rotor is

I'm seeing these two in the Suzuki parts book:

11162-71C10 Distributor Case Seal (included in the engine gasket set)
11162-71C10 O Ring (included with the DLI sensor case set)

Look suspiciously the same to me, might just be a generic O-Ring like the distributors use.

just to be sure everyone is on the same page, 98 and later 1.3 metros don't have a distributor, just a cover plate. There should be a seal in there, and just like the distributor models they probably don't have a part number for it. For the distributor I know the part is a rubber O ring that's 15/16" inside diameter and 1/8" thick, you can just ask for one with these dimensions. For the dist-less you could always open it up and find the leaking seal, take it in and find a replacement, or just get one of these and see if it will fit.

Looks like that is what I am going to do, was just hoping that I could have the seal before I took it apart.

I took it apart today and it does have a large oring approx 2'' but that was not the leak it has a small crack in it , so I am going to have to find another one.
