Well, it looks like a vacuum leak from Kanas City. My sound died.

Send a PM to mwebb with a link to your Topic. He'll chime in with the answer in a minute, along with an admonition to use a particularly good flavor of crankcase engine oil. You can beat him to the punch on the engine oil. Check My Topics for ACEA A3/B3, etc . . .

I've got a '96 4 cylinder. See "Adrienne" in My Topics.

Good luck. You too will be cured!

That will take you to mwebb's profile. He's one of the Tech Certified guys on the forum. Always types in light blue. Can't miss his posts. Click on PM. Ask him to look at your Topic on Bad Idle, or send him the link. While you're in there, look at some of his posts and topics. He's very smart. Good guy to know.

Click on the big orange MY TOPICS in my signature about the oil. I think Mobil 0W40 is on his approved flavor list. :D :news

Got 70 MPG?

Judging by how the vacuum is fluttering around it looks like you have valvetrain issues...

Car actually don't sound bad to me but it sounds like you need to adjust the TPS. There is a pinned thread in the "Guides/How To" section on this. That is probably why the idle is changing. If you do have a vacuum leak it is very small. You can test for vacuum leaks while it's running and using carb cleaner and spraying in small intervals in certain spots where the hoses, intake, and throttle body connections are and listen for RPM change to find a leak.

po400 is evap. Check the purge valve, did you replace the vaccum hose to it on top of the charcoal cannister? Smelling in gas fumes? This could cause idling issues.

i replaced all the vacuum hoses from the egr , i also did some more tests using a t pin to check the EGR selenoid(the brown one) with the engine runing, i used the t pin method to check the wire that reads 0 when the key is on but the engine off (with engine on that wire read 8 volts not 12) and when i ground it i heard a tick but the engine did not stall or sounded bad
