What brand piston rings should I use in my 1991 metro 1.0 liter? Also my rod bearing don't have any markings on them, does that mean they are standard size?

I used the Hastings rings from parts dinosaur http://www.store.partsdinosaur.com/page17.html 19k miles later they are still going strong.

Not sure about your bearings - you could put them in place and check with plastigauge which is always a good idea anyway. That way you would know for certain. Good Luck!

Hey thanks, I was leaning towards using them but was not sure how good they are. I just need to find a berry hone, I guess a 280-320 grit would do it but never used one tho. I will get the standard bearings and check them with the plastigauge.

Very few Metros have had the crank turned. Most are using just stock main and rod bearings. There have been a few Q's here about rings. One of our friends recently got a set of rings and they were the wrong thickness. I also had a problem getting the wrong width of rings last year too. So make sure they fit in the grooves. How many miles are on your engine. If its a lot. Replace the bearings just for cheap insurance. So you know exactly what you have.

I will be sure to check the rings when they get here. I am going to changing the rod bearings too. The odometer reads 59827 but there is an oil change sticker saying next oil change at 265687! I just bought the car about a month ago and am slowly getting it ready. I have ss exh valves coming from 3tech this week. I need to replace the whole exhaut sysem too and the windshield. I found a set of 13 inch rims and tires at the local salvage yard off a 93 hyundai. I used the bulge nuts and they fit great.
