Belt making noise

When i turn the car on a belt squeaks and thn stops and it does it like whn i gear down after going up my one hill from my house. and that hte only time that it does that. i just replaced the alternator belt, so idk what belt is squeaking. If someone would knows something about this please let me know wht is up with it. Thanks

Make it tighter. New belts stretch soon after use.

Yeah, I don't like the pulley layout on these cars, you really gotta crank the alt down to keep it from screeching at you.

If the WP were in the center holding the belt down (the back of the belt turns the WP, like in certain . . . other . . . cars, it would probably be fine.

Or you could upgrade to more ribs on the pulleys. This is a common upgrade on GTP's to keep the supercharger belt from slipping when modified.

yes absolutely what Johnny said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we had the same thing happen to us, once you tighten it it could stretch again a hair too

They already did that, made it a little better, but didn't eliminate the problem. As has been mentioned, there's not enough pulley wrap. I think a larger diameter alternator pulley would be the best solution.
