But I'm almost done! Just a few more hours, maybe 3-4. It's just the readability of the names. Larger type and more posts will help. Frankly I don't even look at the posts much. I'm probably going to do something similar to what Stiffchezze suggests. Remove the old emails and enlarge the type - But one post per each of 50 states is a bit much. I suspect that 4-5 consecutive posts should cover it and take up a whole page. Posts are something any moderator can change and update. After the initial A-Z and missed newbes are added it will be easy to maintain. |

I think it does. Nice Idea... Sorry, but I can't go back over this and select every other name. I suspect there are close to 5,000 names and maybe 70% with addresses.

I still don't understand why you have to do this manually when it is already available in the database under the location field. Just verify the inputs

Open the posts in word, find "," and replace with "[/b], [.b]" . Then add [.b] to the first and [/b] to the last? But once again, it adds to the count EDIT: wait that makes them all bold... but you get the idea. A hotkey would work too. Edited by razr769, Sep 8 2011, 10:54 AM.

How do you get on this list? I missed something somewhere. Normal for me though. |

If your going to keep updating this please add me to it. I live in White City, Oregon. Might be better to list it as Medford, Oregon since a lot of people don't know where White City is.. (about 5 miles from medford LOL) |

I am a moderator. As far as I know I do not have access to the database. We talked about this a little with Johnny Mullet and he made no mention of using any database. It might have been nice but there is no sort by location in the Members listing and no separate entry for state/province/country. OK, let's say I have a database of our members and their stated locations. 1. There is no way to sort it by state. Members list by city, county, coordinates, no listing, country or "here" and some local description. 2. If listed by location then which location of these? El Paso (4), Albany (4), Atlanta (4), Auburn (3), Mesa (2), Dayton (3), Brew City, USA, Little Rock (3), Lake County, Portland (5), Freehold (3), London (4), Stamford (4), Louisville (5), Lisbon (5), Indianapolis (2), Carthage (5), Sullivan (2), Cheney (2), Dallas (4), Thunder Bay (2), Anchorage (2), Lexington (5), San Antonio (2), Springfield (4), Ontario (4), Mount Vernon (5), Birmingham (3), Omaha (2), Brownsville (5) Because the number in the parentheses is the number of listings Google Maps gives for those cities. And I'm not even being "American" and thinking that there is only one Las Vegas or Hollywood - and I am from California. 3. With a database, listed by location who's going to sort them by state/province/country? Actually this has been fun because I have ridden a bicycle cross country a couple dozen times and seeing place I have visited brings on warm fuzzy feeling. Then I can imagine driving my Geo in other countries and having a Geopalooza in Finland, Jamaica, Peru, Australia, Bulgaria, or Ireland when I add a member from another country. It also makes the quote "The earth is but one country and mankind it's citizens." even more real.

Looks to me that Steved82971(Calico Rock) Arkansas might be the same as: steved in Arkansas. Maybe Steved82971 can confirm that he submitted two user names. |

Because your moniker begins with 'w' and I am only up to 'wd' and I should be through the alphabet this weekend. No jury duty. No Rolex or open wheel racing on TV and my only project is to finish lowering my Geo. I will be making a mass update when I finish the alphabet. In the beginning it was just going to be whoever wanted to be on the list. But I got a little impatient and started adding members who had posted. But a lot of members have not posted but visit the site regularly. So I listed them by activity. Then I gave up and went with my natural inclination to just list ALL members because they are members - without distinction. So that makes you just a little late in requesting to be on the list and me late in making the list.

I don't know BB. Steved82971 keeps buying metros and I just can't keep up with his stable of cars. BTW, thanks for all of your hard work on this endeavour.

FYI, Updated on Friday, Sept 30, last member added psychometro. Now you can see who has logged in to GMF and from what location - not the members' name. The feature is on the Portal in the right column: ![]() And the map looks like this: ![]() |

I don't think the personalities are the same?

Good Grief!
I'll do the same.
