My wife's poor metro has an extremely slow acceleration and I'm know the motor is small but if the air is on you have to slam the pedal down to get it up and going and it's still slow. Could it be trans?? I have changed all electrical engine parts which leaves me to think trans?? Any ideas

Welcome, Talamant3z.
We need more information, please.
Is the transmission manual or automatic?
How many miles?
How long have you had the car, and when did this issue start?
Keep posting :) :news

Common for the automatic to stop shifting and stay in third all the time. Try shifting it manually and see if it works better.

Need more info..... Like Woodie said if its an auto is it shifting at all (staying in 3rd)? If its shifting but really dogging you might have a clogged cat. How many miles? Have you done a compression test? When you do the compression test make sure its done WOT. report results.

Could be crap stuck in a valve body or govener. Sorry sticks are my specialty, not autos. I did do installs on them. But 20 years ago.

I just shut the Air Co off at stop signs and intersections. You are supposed to be able to adjust the Cutout switch for the AC, but I haven't made it work right yet.

make sure your tranny oil is topped off. If it is and has been then change the oil.

sounds like the trans control module is bad if its sticking in 3rd gear. try downshifting to 1st at stops see if its better on power. mine did this but my motor was super tired with 346,000 miles.
