Hello All,
I've been lusting after a Geo Metro for years and finally got a chance at one locally. Cruising in the country we passed a farm that had a rather faded red Metro LSI hatchback sitting out front with a "For Sale" sign on it. We (wife & I) stopped to check it out and found a '95 LSI with very little rust on the rocker panels, massively sun-faded dash top, an otherwise clean interior, a fancy aftermarket radio, and a very clean engine compartment. We think it was an Arizona car. The farmer let me drive it and I noted an engine with no expensive noises or blowing oil, a noisy brake (or wheel bearing...) , no a/c, and run out 1st & 2cnd gear synchros. I went back and offered him 2/3 of his asking price ($1000) and he accepted.

Anyway, I've been a race car mechanic for years but now I'm retired so I'll have the time to make everything right and enjoy this little beast. At least i can feel a part of your community now since I actually own a Geo Metro.... :drivin

Always nice to see a rust free metro show up in the rust belt.
There are a number of the rust free ones out west going to the crusher..... :smackface :banghead
So, it's good to see you get one.
If you are a race car mechanic....all the better :thumb

Hey Guys,
Sorry for not getting back to you! I thought I'd get an email when somebody answered my post and that never happened, so I figured I was being ignored LOL! I'm swapping transmissions right now with a donor car I picked up in the neighborhood and stripped out. Here are a few pics of how it looked the day we bought it.

There is some rust, but nothing I can't deal with. I'd love to go out West and find a rust-free convertible some day; but then I guess everybody else would, too!! ^o)

Would somebody tell me how to subscribe to a post so I can get email notifications of activity on it?

Well, that's about 160 miles from us so we'll have to give it some thought. It sounds like fun; and after 160 miles I might need some parts...LOL! :lol Thanks for the invitation.
