Hey all! Just wanted to say hi before I start posting all my questions on the regular boards. This account will probably be used by both I and my husband, I'm sure. Often times he's working on the car and has me look up what questions he has, so I'll probably be posting most of the time. ;)

We live in Utah and just bought a 1992 Geo Metro LSI (260k miles) for $600. We've already had some lovely adventures with it - when we drove it home after buying it (about an hour drive at 11 pm on Independence Day) the fuel injector line started leaking fuel everywhere... we didn't notice til we got it home and it leaked all over our driveway. Luckily it didn't start on fire! My husband has successfully fixed that problem, so now we're on to the next things to get it to pass safety and emissions testing here.

The car had been sitting for a year before we bought it, so the fuel lines had cracked (hence the leak) and the rear drum brakes can't even be opened up for inspecting them (we'll be replacing those soon). It has paint flaking off everywhere and the dash is all sun-spotted, but we love the little aqua monster already. It's so easy to work on compared to our 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan and it's a lot easier to find parts at the salvage yard!

About us: I'm 25, my husband's 27 and we've got two little girls currently and #3, a boy, is due in November. We also have two Rhodesian Ridgebacks. We don't know a whole lot about cars, but we've been learning. We've been having fun renovating our old adobe house - it was built in 1870. We build websites when we have spare time (which is pretty much non-existant ATM). :)

Anyway, here's some pictures of our little Metro (my 3 year old daughter thinks it's her car because it's "too small" for mommy and daddy. She gets very upset when she asks to drive it and we tell her she can't. She is sure once it is fixed, we will let her drive it though).

haha Very nice!

Maybe we'll call him GIR, after this guy from Invader Zim. He kinda reminds me of the Geo - similar coloring, tiny and cute.

Welcome aboard, like your aqua monster, really cute second generation. I see the hood has a slight gap and some assorted dents. If the hood blows up while driving it can "spring" the hood to where it doesn't fit the same anymore and may crack the windshield too. Good news is hoods are relatively cheap and easy find, nice find.
