A friend of mine whos borrowing the metro said instead of lowering the geo we should lift it. which got me thinking what about doing a baja style metro? space the wheels out with wider tires a baja push bar with fog lights and light bar on top lifted up just a couple inchs. what does everyone thing and any ideas and thought to make this happen would be sweet!!!

I have a little bit of that them going on with mine, I have been thinking of getting the roof basket with 4 lights mounted across it, but the car might be getting sold instead.

i got a roof rack off a passport for 10 bucks at a junk yard for my civic wagon that i didnt use. im going to have to cut all the cross bars to make it fit on there but will fit nicely onces its cut and put on. that way i can haul a little more stuff if i need too.

I think that would be incredibly sweet.

you should get one of those 2,500 lb atv winches from the tractor supply for like $150 and mount it up front - those little winches only weigh like 20lbs or something.

Heck, why not go for it!

You might have to get creative with raising the suspension, I think the front will be tough to raise more than a couple inches.

Ya know, the Samurai is kind of cute... same 8v 1.3 as some Metros.

In fact, an orphaned Sami 'tin top' followed me home a couple weeks ago. Under my watchful eye, my 16yr old stepson is learning how to solder wires, drill and tap holes in steel, R&R a transmission, transfer gearcase and clutch, adjust valves, and turning a basket case into a runner

there was a post titled "Chalkboard metro" , look through the pix, there is one pic with really fat back tires, at least 12in. looks great, I took a pic of the computer screen to save it.
.
It's under the 'community' then in 'pictures/videos'

:)

I made a roof rack for mine.

And I actually just brought home the tubing last week to make a brush guard as well.

I'm wanting to do the same thing with my '00 metro. It's got the 1.0L 5spd, I was wandering mostly about suspension and steering type upgrades and whatnot. I know there is not much, but any ideas would be awesome.
