Hey fellow geo-ers, I just bought my first metro for 800 bucks. My commute is long now so I had to downsize! I didn't realize there was such a large geo fanbase before I found this site. Anyway I look forward to getting answers on all of my millions of noob-like questions. Thanks! P.s. haters are welcome :)

Maple valley is awesome. It's very wooded/ secluded, it has all necessities.80 percent of the houses were built between 2000 and now. It's about 50 mins from Seattle and 15 mins from basically the middle of nowhere so its very quiet. Surrounding cites are covington, Kent, enumclaw, etc. And there are tons of state parks. Bellingham is a college town, its okay but there's not really any industry ( very little employment options) . I don't know much about port Angeles I've heard good things. Your three cities choices are pretty far from eachother! Choose wisely!

Well I don't want to be in any college town that's the last thing I want is drunks driving around and police up your ass every time you go out your driveway so and I would rather build my own house if I got around to buying property. that leaves Pt. Angeles and Maple Valley, what about Peaceful valley, I heard some not so good stories there.

I suppose its depends on what your current town is like and what you're used to. Up north (Bellingham/ peaceful valley) is more small town with space between each town. Maple valley is situated on the edge of a conglomerate of cities. so it gives you the small town feel but then you drive for 20 mins and there's back to back cities with no real indication of city boundaries until you hit Seattle.... then its quite obvious that you're in Seattle. If you want to build a house then check out enumclaw, buckley, maple valley, ravensdale( all near eachother)

You can "see" it on TV---but if you are there you can "feel" it through every bone, muscle and nerve in your body..........
